EXPANSION ORCHESTRA

The Expansion Orchestra is an improvising large ensemble. Working with expanded methodologies for large ensemble composition and improvisation, the orchestra creates new works. The primary aim of the expansion orchestra is to find and express new possibilities for how we create, structure and perceive sound. This is an organisation of 25+ artists who work across generations, artistic backgrounds and forms of media. Operating without written music or a conductor, the Expansion Orchestra works to dissolve traditional western hierarchies and build community through composition and improvisation.
